A Short Review of Sony’s Hottest Camcorders

One of Sony’s 2009 machines would be the Sony HDR-CX500V. This Sony machine is a high-definition camcorder packed with functions like a 12mp still image capture, back-illuminated 1/2.88″ “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor with ClearVid™ array, Professional-quality Sony® G Lens, Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization with Active Mode and 3-Way Shake Canceling, 12X Optical, 150X Digital Zoom, 32GB flash memory and geotagging. And with such a huge feature-pack and a cheap price tag, it is difficult to pass on this fine performing piece of kit.

Its older sibling, the Sony HDR-CX520V boasts highlights common to those of the Sony HDR-CX500V except it has twice the amount of flash memory. With these two matching cameras and competitors, videographers are able to choose from a wide variety.

Launched in the 1st quarter of 2009, Sony’s HDR-CX100 is a low-end high-definition camcorder which is brimming with capabilities such as 8GB internal flash memory or optional Memory Stick Pro DUO memory card, 10x optical zoom, a 1/5″ Exmor™ CMOS image sensor with ClearVid™ array, Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with SteadyShot™ image stabilization, face detection, Smile Shutter, manual focus, exposure and white balance adjustments amongst many more features. Sony’s cutting edge piece of equipment also presents a 2.7″ touchscreen LCD display and is available in 3 colors – silver, black or red. Despite being bigger and blockish than its fellow camcorders, the Sony HDR-CX100 is very responsive and starts up quickly. This Sony piece of kit serves up high quality video at a moderately reasonable price tag.
